Washington School
Like the Free Academy, Washington School gained territorial and national recognition as the finest school in the territory. Washington was built directly behind the Free Academy and eventually replaced the land it occupied. Washington Traditional School is still used today.

In just five years, attendance had increased at Washington School so much that the Board of Trustees felt a need for a new grade school in west Prescott.
