Alexander Brodie served in Arizona with the First and Sixth Cavalry and later became a mining engineer. Major (later Lt. Colonel) Brodie had his wrist shattered by a bullet on June 24. From 1902 to 1905 he served as Arizona's fifteenth territorial governor.
