Territorial Women's Memorial Rose Garden
MARY LUCINDA HOLMESLEY WALKER

Mary was born on July 23, 1848, in Spring Valley, Arkansas, the daughter of Levi and Aly Means Holmesley.

She married Thompson Walker in 1874, and they followed her parents to Tempe in 1876, where she lived all the rest of her life.

Her mother Aly and sisters, Celeste Blake, Alice Kathryn Williams, Emily Josephine Holmesley and Margaret George Ann Holmesley, are all represented in the Memorial Rose Garden. Mary's daughters Alice Walker Mullins and Ivy Walker Hollenbeck as well as her daughter-in-law Rachel are also represented in the Rose Garden.

Mary died on September 12, 1930, in Tempe.
