Territorial Women's Memorial Rose Garden
MARGARETTA HAISLEY

Margaretta was born August 20, 1856, in Grants County, Indiana. She came to Prescott in 1885 to marry Albert Haisley, a member of the Santa Fe railroad survey party. Albert had arrived in the Prescott area in 1880.

The couple was married on April 6, 1885. Margaretta and Albert had three daughters: Ruth (Mrs. William) Paull, Orpha Green, and Olive; and one son, Arthur, who died in childhood. Ruth, Orpha and Olive are represented in the Rose Garden.

The family lived at 319 W. Leroux. Margaretta was a quiet and retiring woman, devoted to her family. She specialized in making tintypes.

Margaretta died June 25, 1942, and was buried in Mountain View Cemetery.
