Territorial Women's Memorial Rose Garden
MARGARET GEORGE ANN HOLMESLEY
"Georgie" was born on May 10, 1866, in Spring Valley, Arkansas, the daughter of Levi and Aly Holmesley.

She lived at Woolsey Stage Station in Humboldt, Arizona Territory. Her father died when she was 15, and her mother two years later, leaving the family of younger children in her care.

A graduate in the first class at Tempe Normal School, Georgie taught in Tempe. She died April 10, 1954. Also represented in the Rose Garden are Georgie's four sisters and her mother.
