Territorial Women's Memorial Rose Garden
MARGARET A. SIMMONS DEARING
Margaret was born in October 1861, the daughter of Thomas Simmons and his first wife, Catherine. On December 24, 1878, she married William "Willie" A. Dearing, who worked at the American Ranch.

On July 25, 1883, her son Elmer died. Margaret also had a daughter, Mary Grace Dearing Kelly. The family lived in the Copper Basin area two to three miles southwest of Thumb Butte, a photo of which is on display in the Sharlot Hall Museum.

Margaret's husband died in February 1933. She died in January 1945 and was buried in the Arizona Pioneers' Cemetery.
