Territorial Women's Memorial Rose Garden
KATE SIMPSON
Kate was born in 1865 in Illinois. She married William Simpson and had three sons: Leo, Lemuel and Mayo, all of whom predeceased her. The Simpsons came to Arizona from Neosho, Missouri, in 1890. They lived at 328 Montezuma Street in Prescott.

Kate was a nurse, a member of the Order of Pocahontas and belonged to the Christian Science Church.

Kate died May 13, 1943, and graveside services were performed by the Order of Pocahontas. She was buried in the family plot in Citizens' Cemetery.

Her two nieces, Dollie Heisler and Luci May Roberts, are also represented in the Rose Garden.
