Territorial Women's Memorial Rose Garden
JEWELL AITON
Jewell was born in Ryan, Oklahoma, on March 13, 1899. In 1912, she came to Clifton, Arizona, where she married Sam Aiton, a water-witcher/douser. They had four children: two daughters, Emma (Aiton) Guest and Flora Lee (Aiton) Mills; and two sons, Sam T., Jr. and Jack.

The family owned a ranch in the Mayer and Cordes area in the 1930s. Jewell died March 17, 1955, and was buried in the Odd Fellows (I.O.O.F.) Cemetery
