Territorial Women's Memorial Rose Garden
ELVA VIOLET BURLESON CORNISH
Violet was born April 3, 1913, in Humbolt, Arizona, the daughter of Elve Lessard Breckenridge and Joseph L. Burleson.

She and her husband, Keith, a grademan with the Yavapai County Highway Department, lived in the early 1950s at 301 Navajo Drive.

Violet was the owner and proprietor of Maggie's Steak House on 504 E. Sheldon Street. Violet had two daughters: Dorothy June Lorance and Margaret Frances Loman. She was a Christian Scientist.

Violet died in Prescott at age 43 and was interred at Mountain View Cemetery on September 19, 1956. Her mother, Elva Breckenridge, her grandmother Virginia Lessard and four great-aunts are also represented in the Rose Garden.
