Territorial Women's Memorial Rose Garden
ADELINE M. CRAPSEY ROOD
Addie was born in Lockport, Niagara Co., New York, on September 12, 1842. She is the daughter of Moses C. Crapsey (1802 - 1888) and Mary Southard (1804-1879. Her father, who came to New York State to work on the erie Canal in the 1820's, was a prominent citizen of Niagra County and has a road named after him.

She married Charles S. Rood in New York. He died in the 1890's. She came to Prescott from Kansas City, Missouri with her daughter and son-in-law about 1910.

Addie was a member of the Congregational Church. She helped form the Business Girls' Club that later became the Business and Professional Women's Club. In 1917, she lived at 131 N. Mt. Vernon. Her daughter Mary B. Watson is also represented in the Rose Garden.

Addie died in April 16, 1927 and was buried in Mountain View Cemetery.
