ADA B. ELDRED RIGDEN

Ada was born in 1875 and came to Arizona from Battle Creek, Michigan, to teach school in Kirkland. She and Charles Rigden met in 1905 and were married in 1907. They had two children: Betty Wilson and Tom.

Ada was a talented artist as well as an accomplished ranch wife. She helped organize the Kirkland Women's Club in 1923, was active in the Monday Club and in the Arizona Federation of Women's Clubs.

She was a serious artist, using both oil and watercolor paints. It was an interest carried on by her granddaughter, Cynthia Rigden.

Ada died in December 1963 on her ranch and was buried in Mountain View Cemetery.
