In forty years of service in the Arizona House of Representatives, the "First Lady of the Arizona Legislature" has supported and sponsored many pieces of legislation in such diverse areas as criminal justice, highway safety, and public health. For longer than that forty years, however, Polly has made it her business to concern herself with the preservation of Arizona's history. A member of the state Board of Library, Archives, and Public Records, Polly Rosenbaum has long been a strong supporter, not only of that Department, but of all the preservation and historical communities of Arizona.

The Hall of Fame owes a debt of gratitude to Polly for her leading roll in its establishment back in 1981. The following year she sponsored the state Historic Preservation Act of 1982. Restoration of the Carnegie Library and the Evans House, in Phoenix, were also part of Polly's agenda.

In 1988, Polly received the Governor's Award for historic preservation. As a friend and former colleague put it, "Polly is the cement bonding Arizona's past and present."
