The 1870, 1880, (why is there no 1890 Census?), 1900 and 1920 Yavapai County, Arizona Censuses have been indexed by the Sharlot Hall Museum. Last name, First name, age (1920 only), occupation (1920 only), precinct/enumeration district, and page numbers were recorded.

If there was uncertainty about the accuracy of an entire name the symbol <> was placed after it. (e.g. Smith <>, John ) If a single letter or several letters were illegible, the symbol <> was put in its place.

Search the Census

How to search the 1870, 1880, 1900 and 1920 Census Index for Yavapai County, Arizona:
You must supply at least a portion of a last or first name.
The maximum number of results returned per search is 200.
Some ages were unknown to the census taker, or were illegible. These records will be returned if one or both age boxes are left blank. (1920 only)

Only one year may be searched at a time.

"Starts with" will return Al, Alvin, Allan, Albert, etc.
"Ends with" will return Hal, Val, Pal, etc.
"Is" will return Al only.
"Regular Expression" symbols may be used in the text box to modify the name search when this menu item is selected.

Entering 30 - 40 will return those between 30 & 40 years of age.
Entering 30 - 30 will return only those 30 years old.
